About the Presiding Member
The Presiding Member of the Ningo-Prampram District Assembly is elected by the assembly members from among themselves to chair general assembly meetings. The Presiding Member plays a crucial role in ensuring orderly conduct of assembly business and that decisions are made in the best interest of all communities in the district.
As Chairman of the Presiding Member's Committee (PRCC), the Presiding Member also leads various community engagement initiatives, facilitating dialogue between the Assembly and community stakeholders, associations, and organisations.
The Presiding Member works closely with the District Chief Executive, the District Coordinating Director, and all sub-committees to ensure effective governance and accountability in the management of district affairs.
Key Functions
Chairing all general assembly sessions and ensuring proper conduct of business
Overseeing the work of sub-committees and ensuring compliance with assembly resolutions
Leading community engagement activities and stakeholder consultations
Facilitating consensus-building among assembly members on key development issues
Ensuring transparency and accountability in assembly decision-making processes
The Presiding Member and Chairman of PRCC has recently led engagements with community groups including the Reformed Hairdressers' Association at Old Ningo to discuss livelihood opportunities for residents.
