About This Service

The Business Operating Permit (BOP) is an annual licence issued by the Ningo-Prampram District Assembly authorising businesses to operate legally within the district. All commercial establishments — including shops, offices, factories, and service providers — are required by law to hold a valid BOP.

The BOP must be renewed every year and prominently displayed at the business premises. Operating without a valid BOP may result in fines or closure of the premises by Assembly enforcement officers.

Who Needs This Service?

All businesses operating within the Ningo-Prampram District
New businesses applying for their first BOP
Existing businesses renewing their annual BOP
Businesses that have changed ownership or location

Required Documents

Business registration certificate (from Registrar General's Department)
Owner's valid national ID (Ghana Card or passport)
Completed BOP application form
Proof of business premises (tenancy agreement or ownership documents)
Previous BOP (for renewals)

Steps to Apply

Submit Business Registration Documents

Visit the Assembly office with your business registration certificate and owner ID. Our officers will verify your business details.

Complete the BOP Application Form

Fill out the BOP application form available at the Assembly office. Ensure all business information is accurate and up to date.

Site Inspection

Assembly officers may conduct an inspection of your business premises to verify the information provided in your application.

Pay Fee & Receive BOP Certificate

Pay the applicable BOP fee at the Finance Department and collect your Business Operating Permit certificate. Display it visibly at your premises.
